I've read this series from the first book. In each different book there is a favorite character, but I think Ians' s group is my favorite set of characters. Forget about the infected, although there are plenty of those too. The book focuses on the struggle people trying to live in any apacalyspe would face while being invaded by other enemy countries. The struggles between various groups, as well as, the lack of basic needs we are so used to having, keep you turning pages. You look forward to the ending of each struggle, but you dread the end of the series.
This is an awsome follow up of a great series by Joseph Hansen in the 5 roads to Texas series. It is action packed from start to finish and well worth the time to read .
Great continuation of the five road saga with nice depth into certain characters with top notch action. Some better editing should have been done though.
The book had a good hook and keeps you interested in the characters and the plot. By the end you are rooting for the good guys
Obviously this is a continuation of the “Five Roads†saga/anthology and Joe is firing on all cylinders. I have been reading his works all the way back to when he was writing under the pseudonym of H.J. Harry and this is definitely not n his top five books. I won’t soeak directly to the content since so many people get prickly over unintentional spoilers. I will say that Ian is a badass but he does make mistakes and those mistakes add to the overall realism of the story. To and from El Paso he has seen and done things that could break most men if they don’t have a true purpose.
