Es gab für mich keinen konkreten Anlass, ein Buch über Depressionen zu lesen, ich finde die Geschichte von Menschen einfach grundsätzlich spannend. Wer auch so gestrickt ist, der ist hier genau richtig. Da man von vorn herein weiß, dass der Protagonist/Autor sich mittlerweile umgebracht hat, liest man es auch ganz anders. Es ist eine bemerkenswerte Mischung aus Humor und Verzweiflung.Ich kann nicht beurteilen, ob es für (depressive) Jugendliche als Literatur geeignet ist, aber für Erwachsene ist es sicherlich ein spannendes Buch mit Einsichten in einen ungewöhnlichen und selten beschriebenen Alltag.

Set in New York, the city which seems to be a picture book example of a melting pot with an uncountable number of inhabitants on smallest space, the author manages to make the reader gain a certain understanding of the protagonist's depression. Definately worth a read to gain a little more of an understanding of how people with depression might feel.
Das ist so ein schönes Buch, wie auf der Rückseite steht, "A book about depression that's not the least bit depressing."Ich selber hatte noch nie mit Dingen wie Depression zutun und mal einen Einblick in den Kopf einer an Depression leidenen Person zu bekommen, war echt interessant. Ich nehm das Leben das Authors mal als Beweis dafür, dass dieses Buch sehr authentisch und realistisch geschrieben ist.Dieses Buch hat mir echt gefallen, auch das Ende ist wunderschön, ich kann es nur jedem empfehlen. :)
Wunderbares Buch, die Geschichte ist wirklich ergreifend und nachvollziehbar geschrieben. Ich lese häufig "Jugendbücher" auf englisch, so bliebe ich in der Sprache. Keine komplizierten Fachwörter, die man auf deutsch nicht mal wüsste. Wirklich gut für diesen Zweck!
Ein 'Jugendbuch',( einem 14jährigen würde ich das aber noch nicht unbedingt in die hand drücken, selbst auf Deutsch vielleicht nicht.)Mein Englisch ist vielleicht nicht Business tauglich, aber auch nicht schlecht. Das Buch ist relativ einfach zu verstehen, für Menschen die z:B. auch Filme ab und zu auf Englisch gucken, sollte es keine großen Schwierigkeiten darstellen.Ich mochte das Buch wirklich sehr, ist vielleicht kein 'must have' aber es spukt einem doch noch die nächsten Tage im Kopf umher, nachdem man es ausgeles hat. Es ist keine 0815 Jugend-Liebesstory. Ein Junge findet heraus wer er ist, dazu muss er aber erst einiges durchmachen.
Leider fehlt mir der Zugang zur Geschichte und dem Protagonisten... ist wohl zu speziell.
Habe das Buch bekommen und innerhalb von zwei Tagen gelesen. Es ist ein wirklich gutes Buch. Ich konnte mich sehr oft mit dem Protagonisten identifizieren, da ich selber an Depressionen erkrankt bin. Es ist ein Buch das mich schmunzeln lässt und mir auf seine Art gefällt.
wa ein geschenk, welches ich selbst interessant finde und mir noch einmal holen werde um es selber zu lesen.Lg
